"Global Weirding" Katherine Hayhoe Talks Climate Change at South by South Lawn White House Festival

Katherine Hayhoe, featured host of the New PBS Digital Series "Global Weirding," is participating in South by South Lawn: A White House Festival of Ideas, Art and Action, Monday Oct. 3, by discussing climate change with President Barack Obama and Academy Award-winning actor, producer and activist Leonardo DiCaprio.

At South by South Lawn (SXSL), Hayhoe will focus her featured discussion on the importance of protecting the planet for future generations. Following the discussion will be a premiere of DiCaprio's new documentary film "Before the Flood."

The festival will also include panel discussions exploring how leaders in art, technology, food, innovation and social change are helping to move the country forward; musical performances from The Lumineers, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings and DJ Beverly Bond; and interactive exhibits.

In the New PBS and Texas Tech Public Media Digital Series featuring Hayhoe, "Global Weirding," she discusses the climate issues society faces today, including climate change, religion, politics, global warming and more, and how they are all connected. 

"Global Weirding" premiers Wednesday, Sept, 28 at 10 a.m. Central Time at its YouTube channel globalweirdingseries.com. Subscribe for new episodes every other Wednesday.
