On Wednesday, April 29, the City of Lubbock Health Department is opening a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site by appointment. The testing site will be located at the Patterson Library, 1836 Parkway Drive, across from Alderson Elementary School, according to a press release from the City of Lubbock Health Department.
The site will be open from 1:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. To be tested, individuals with symptoms must schedule an appointment during their hours of operation.
To make an appointment, call the Health Department at (806)775-2933 between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
To qualify for testing, the Health Department requires that individuals are experiencing at least one of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath or have recently been in contact with someone who has COVID-19.
The Health Department is also testing healthcare workers without symptoms that care for high-risk groups, including retirement or group homes.
Although testing is free, the press release instructs individuals with health insurance to provide their information to the Health Department.
