The First United Methodist Church is continuing its Vespers Concert Series. This Sunday, they will showcase Cellist Jeffry Lastrapes, at 5p.m. at the Legacy Event Center.
Tell us about your background and education.
I started off at Temple University when I was 16, right after my sophomore year of high school, I got my GED and went off to Philadelphia and started college. I transferred to the Curtis Institute of Music where I got my undergraduate degree and then I did my master’s degree at Julliard. And that’s my pedigree…I worked very hard to get into these schools. I didn’t take any second I was there for granted. I loved every minute of it.
