Governor Greg Abbott was joined by Lubbock's senator Charles Perry on Tuesday for the signing of two bills directed at helping rural healthcare systems. Our Brad Burt has more on the resources the bills provide for rural counties and hospitals. Meanwhile, the City of Lubbock is encouraging residents to apply for boards and committees. Our Sean Ryan reports some of the open positions include the American Windmill Museum, Board of Directors; the Libraries Board; the Zoning Board of Adjustments; Urban Design & Historic Preservation Commission; and several tax reinvestment boards. The term for the positions begins in March 2026. The deadline to submit is September 30. You can find more information on the city website here or submit applications here.
