TTU Music Professor Records Lost Violin Sonata From Samuel Barber | The Front Row

A Texas Tech University professor of music has just recorded the world premiere of a lost violin sonata by Samuel Barber!

On today’s episode, we visit professor John Gilbert—a professor of violin at Texas Tech University School of Music. He has just released a new recording—a 2 CD set called Youthful Passions, which includes music by Richard Strauss and Dohnànyi.

Clinton Barrick is the Director of Programming for the network of stations that comprise Texas Tech Public Radio. He has served in this capacity for over twenty-five years, providing Classical Music to the airwaves of the South Plains and expanding Texas Tech Public Radio’s offering of news and cultural programs in response to station and network growth.
