Position Description

Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions

Evaluate and implement long-term strategic marketing goals for Texas Tech Public Media.  Create and distribute reports on project outcomes for internal review. Create goals and objectives for designers, digital content coordinator, and others. Plan and lead staff on individualized marketing plans around content and education initiatives. Develop a communications strategy to message to donors, viewers, listeners and supporters of public media in West Texas on digital and broadcast platforms. Develop pledge strategies and coordinate among staff and the Membership Service Bureau to execute pledge drives including digital content, on-air content, email, and press releases. Research current market trends and ascertain how Texas Tech Public Media can engage new audiences on broadcast and digital. Research the latest digital tools and interactive trends to keep Texas Tech Public Media on the cutting edge of digital media. Understand and develop budgets for marketing initiatives across 3rd party platforms, digital, and broadcast to include tracking expenses and handling vendor relationships. Build brand awareness and position Texas Tech Public Media for success in the El Paso, San Angelo and Lubbock markets. Evaluate and implement improvements on digital strategy. Create integrated and cost effective digital strategies for websites, social media, in all markets. Lead project to optimize website, overhaul UX and unify social media pages. Evaluates research regarding demographics and market trends in order to implement efficient marketing tactics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of UX design
  • Minimum - Bachelors Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communication Science or equivalent.4-5 Years of management experience in relevant field
  • Preferred - Masters in Marketing or Digital Content Creation
  • 5-10 years advanced leadership experience in marketing or a media company
