Join KTTZ-TV and Alamo Drafthouse Lubbock for Willie Velasquez: Your Vote is Your Voice Tuesday Sept. 27 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and stick around after the film for a panel discussion of the film.
50 years ago, Hispanics and Latinos had no political power. That all changed with the forming of La Raza and Willie Velasquez’s campaign to register one million new Latino voters. This film takes a fresh look at how people can claim their own political power and how we all play an important role in the political process.
