Over the course of the production we haven't just been interviewing scientists. Business owners, train conductors, and what we might call just ordinary citizens, have all been included in the film. One of the most unique perspectives we've gotten has come from those who farm the Last Frontier. Alaskan farmers have a unique perspective on just about everything, but one insight we were most interested in was how weather is affecting farming in the state. Not all of which is negative, later winters and earlier summers mean longer growing seasons. At the same time the low snow fall and dry springs can make for a difficult season. Most were more then willing to admit that the climate is in-fact changing, most were quick to add that they weren’t sold on the idea that it’s man made. While one of the farmers that has been here the longest felt that man for sure had a hand in it, and even questioned how we couldn’t be affecting the climate. We also came across the oil pipe line. Being that oil is one of the biggest economic industries for the state, one of the interviewees noted that if the burning of fossil fuels had anything to do with climate change “that it might be a hard pill for some people to take."
