A plethora of options are available to those who feel charitable this holiday season. Here are some ways you can give back to the Lubbock community.

Covenant Children’s, West Texas Training, South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Salvation Army and many more organizations in Lubbock are offering opportunities to volunteer and to donate food, clothes and gifts.

Covenant Children’s asks folks to donate Bluetooth speakers or headphones, journals, blankets, fuzzy socks, tumblers and magazines for teens and light and sound toys, rattles, shape sorters, teethers for infants and toddlers at the hospitals’ front desk by Dec. 22.

West Texas Training’s initiative, No Senior Left Behind, has people choose a senior to purchase gifts for. Those who want to adopt a senior to select gifts for should contact 806 548-4788.
West Texas Training is a company that provides nurse aide, medication aide and end of life training, according to their website.

You can also donate gifts to a child or senior through Salvation Army’s Angel Tree page.

South Plains SPCA has opportunities to adopt pets and donate or sign up to foster animals on their website.

The South Plains Food Bank has volunteer opportunities, including warehouse assistance and Christmas box distribution throughout the rest of December.
