This aerial image shows flooded areas on and near the campus of Louisiana State University (LSU), Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, in Baton Rouge, La. (Patrick Dennis/The Advocate via AP)

In light of the recent catastrophic events taking place in Louisiana, KTTZ is passing along a message from Louisiana Public Broadcasting, who is asking for help in sending relief to the thousands of people flooded out of their homes:

If you can send any supplies for families and children, please send them to the Louisiana Public Broadcasting, 7733 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, LA, 70810, and it will be sent to the local shelters as soon as possible.

Louisiana Public Broadcasting thanks you for any assistance you can provide. They are currently closed and cell service is spotty at best, but if you need to reach someone at the station, please email ntooraen@lpb.org

Here is a list of what the shelters needpillows, blankets, towels, clothes, zip lock bags, diapers, books, coloring books, crayons, stuffed animals, etc.

You can also contribute by texting LAFLOODS to 90999 to make a $10 donation to the American Red Cross or call 1-800-RED-Cross. To donate online, click HERE.

Anything you give will be appreciated and needed!
