College students around the country know about musicians Beyonce and Rihanna. Now, students can put their knowledge to the test by taking a course about the female pop culture icons.
The University of Texas at Austin will offer a class called "Beyonce Feminism, Rihanna Womanism" beginning in the spring of 2015. The innovative course will explore the role of the pop divas in feminism and society.
Omise'eke Tinsley, Ph.D., explained how her new class will teach college students about black feminism.
