Nearly 5,000 people in West Africa have died from the lethal Ebola virus, prompting fears of an American outbreak of the disease - fears intensified since two nurses in Texas and a doctor in New York tested positive for the virus. The CDC and prominent health experts continue to stress, however, that an epidemic in America is unlikely.
But Texas Tech University's main campus, School of Law and Health Sciences Center, uniquely situated on the same campus in the same city, have been working together and creating resources that can handle the stresses and challenges that arise from an infectious disease outbreak whether an epidemic occurs or not.
