Moonlight Musical's Sister Act

If you're a fan of the 1992 musical hit Sister Act, you might be surprised to know that none of the original musical numbers from the movie are included in the on-stage musical. However, according to production conductor, Chris Jorns, you won't be disappointed.

Now showing at the Moonlight Musical Amphitheatre, Sister Act, is packed with numbers from renowned composer, Alan Menken. If his name doesn't ring a bell, think back to Disney favorites like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules...to name a few.

When Director, Daniel Hogan, sought something fresh to bring to Lubbock's community, he chose this production. He describes it as a high energy, high impact show involving 13 scenes, several dance numbers and costume changes, with an all-star cast including, Ann Marie Nichols, Travis Burge and Teresa Moore.

Although the crew has faced numerous challenges--most due to Lubbock's fickle weather--Hogan considers the production a success. "It's a lot of work, but it pays off," he said.

The way Jorns puts it, is you get a little bit of everything.
