Hollis Daniels is escorted out of the Lubbock County Courthouse on April 22, 2022.

Last week, Hollis Reid Daniels was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing Texas Tech Police Officer Floyd East Jr. in October of 2017.

A jury decided his fate, after hearing hours of testimony and evidence. They chose life in prison for him rather than the death penalty.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Court Reporter Gabriel Monte was in the courtroom through the trial. He joins us in the studio today to tell us more about the case.
