Artists Robert Rogers and Deborah Milosevich join the Front Row to talk about the upcoming annual Lubbock Studio Tour.

Tell us about the tour itself for someone who may not know what that is.

The studio tour has been going on for over 20 years. Lubbock Art’s Alliance started it and this year there’s going to be eight studios and 42 artists in those eight studios, so people can get in their car, they can get a map at any of the studio spots and go to different studios and see this different work of local artists. There are going to be 13 new artists in the studio tour, which is great.

It’s a really great opportunity to see Lubbock artists and their new work. People have been working all year to get ready for this studio tour.

You’re a veteran, you’ve been a part of this for a long time. Right?

I have and it’s so great. Also, you get to see a lot of people that you don’t see normally, so that’s fun too. It’s really a fun event and very high quality artwork.

Robert Rogers, you’re new this year. How long have you been producing artwork?

Well I’ve been in the jewelry business for 42 years but as far as doing professional artwork, I’ve been doing that since 91 with galleries. So the reason I haven’t participated so much is every time this came up I had some gallery thing, so I didn’t get to. This year we decided to it and it’s going to be a great deal. I’m really excited.
