In 2006 Leon Williams was presented the “Man of the Year” Award during a program held by the Lubbock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority in conjunction with the Juneteenth celebration. The award is presented each year to individuals who have exhibited outstanding public service to the community.
