Texas Tech Public Media Now Hiring - Television Senior Producer

Texas Tech Public Media is currently looking to fill the position of a Television Senior Producer.

Duties may include planning and coordinating technical production work involved in live, film, and videotape media. May assist faculty and staff in integrating educational plans into effective television teaching programs. May supervise other personnel.

Guides all projects through the production process to meet or exceed deadline, budget, quality and distribution requirements.  Selects and researches topics; contacts and interviews sources; maintains notes and video recordings; writes and edits reports; produces and shoots video reports for air.

Attends meetings and is responsible for appropriate record keeping, correspondence, phone calls, and supplies and equipment.  Proactively participates in the creative cycle of story and program origination with reporters, supervisor, and other producers. Develops pitches and segment ideas as needed.

Produces multi-platform stories as assigned by Production Direct. Reports stories in appropriate forms for broadcast (live on-air, copy, actuality, cut & copy, voicer, wrap, feature, series, documentary, studio, etc.

May be asked to participate in station membership campaigns and community-building events.

Becky joined the Texas Tech Public Media team in September of 2013 after more than 17 years in the broadcast business with many different roles. Becky started her career path with classes in high school and continued through college. Her first media job was at KLBK-13 in production of live news & sports. While working at the television stations Becky began her freelancing position with Texas Tech Athletics. She continues to freelance and loves working on live broadcasts with Texas Tech Athletics and Fox Sports. Becky found a real passion for marketing and promotions while she worked at KJTV-34 for several years. She returned to her media roots at KLBK-13 & KAMC-28 in a promotions position and received Employee of the Year in 2007 and was promoted to eMedia Manager in 2009. Becky is very happy to be back in the marketing and promotions game at Channel 5 and 89.1. She is excited about all the new and exciting things planned for Texas Tech Public Media.
