Lubbock confirms 98 additional cases of COVID-19

Lubbock confirmed 98 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional death today. This brings the total case count for the county to 9,500, with 2,648 listed as active, 105 deaths, and 6,747 listed as recovered.


From the City of Lubbock;

“As of 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020, the City of Lubbock confirmed 98 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and 42 recoveries. The total number of cases in Lubbock County is 9,500: 2,648 active, 6,747 listed as recovered and 105 deaths. 

The City wants to remind citizens to follow Governor Greg Abbott's latest executive order which  prohibits gatherings of 10 or more people, within the city limits, unless approval from the Mayor is received. That order can be found at 

To request approval from the Mayor for outdoor events with anticipated gatherings of 10 or more people, visit where you will find an approval checklist. Completed checklists should be submitted to a minimum of ten days prior to the event for approval.”
