Lubbock confirms 74 additional cases of COVID-19

The City of Lubbock has confirmed 74 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths as of 4:00 p.m. The total number of cases in Lubbock County is 5,328 with 1,959 listed as active, 3,294 listed as recovered, and 75 related deaths.

There are currently 108 patients hospitalized in Lubbock with COVID-19 48 of which are in the ICU.

The city received results for 1034 tests today, making Wednesday's positivity rate 7.15%.

"As of 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, the City of Lubbock confirmed 74 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and 108 recoveries. The total number of cases in Lubbock County is 5,328: 1,959 active, 3,294 listed as recovered and 75 deaths. 

The City wants to remind citizens to follow Governor Greg Abbott's latest executive order which  prohibits gatherings of 10 or more people, within the city limits, unless approval from the Mayor is received. That order can be found at mylubbock.us/COVID19 

To request approval from the Mayor for outdoor events with anticipated gatherings of 10 or more people, visit mylubbock.us/lubbocksafe where you will find an approval checklist. Completed checklists should be submitted to lubbocksafe@mylubbock.us a minimum of ten days prior to the event for approval."
