Lubbock confirms 116 additional cases of COVID-19

Lubbock confirmed 116 new cases of COVID-19 and no additional death today. This brings the total case count for the county to 9,616, with 2,755 listed as active, 107 deaths, and 6,754 listed as recovered.


From the City of Lubbock;

“As of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020, the City of Lubbock confirmed 116 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), 7 recoveries, and two additional deaths. The total number of cases in Lubbock County is 9,616: 2,755 active, 6,754 listed as recovered and 107 deaths. 

The City wants to remind citizens to follow Governor Greg Abbott's latest executive order which  prohibits gatherings of 10 or more people, within the city limits, unless approval from the Mayor is received. That order can be found at 

To request approval from the Mayor for outdoor events with anticipated gatherings of 10 or more people, visit where you will find an approval checklist. Completed checklists should be submitted to a minimum of ten days prior to the event for approval.”
