LHUCA Presents its Summer Camps for Kids

lhuca.org

The Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for Performing Arts has exciting plans for this summer. Jordan Canal visits with us on today’s episode of The Front Row.

Tell us about camps that you have during the summer at LHUCA.

We kicked off our camp program here during spring break and now we are doing summer camps. We’re welcoming children here ages 5-12. During the morning we focus on the dramatic arts, so we work on improv. We play a lot of games, work on character development. Then in the afternoon we’re lucky to work on visual arts so we have our clay studio on site that we get to use.

We have three professional artists from Texas Tech University who will be teaching. They are all very gifted in different aspects. We’ll have some sculptures. We’ll have some painting. And we’ll have some other fun mysterious projects, which I’ll keep a secret.
