Joshua Bell to Perform with LSO at Opening Night Gala Concert

Violinist Joshua Bell to Open 2016-17 LSO Season.

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra will begin the 2016-17 season on September 12, 2016 with an opening night gala featuring world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell. The virtuoso violinist is one of the world’s most accomplished musicians and has a long-standing career of excellence.

Grammy Award winner and Emmy Award nominee, Joshua Bell has been considered a protégée since his debut with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra at age 14. His career has been highlighted with multiple European tours, several performances for PBS and winning the Avery Fisher Prize in 2007. He further launched his global popularity with his infamous undercover subway performance for The Washington Post, which went viral in 2007. He is now currently the Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.

Bell’s gala performance will mark the beginning of the LSO’s 2016-17 season entitled the 70thAnniversary Season, creating a pristine opportunity to celebrate the LSO. Other performers participating in the LSO’s 70thAnniversary season include Director of Orchestral Studies for Virginia Commonwealth University, guest conductor Daniel Myssyk, pianist Adam Golka, The Lubbock Chorale, and many others. Tickets will be available for purchase by 2016-17 LSO subscribers on April 5that 9 AM and available for purchase by the general public on May 3rdat 9 AM. Corporate and individual GALA sponsor tables are available now.
