As demand for help increases, evictions resume in Lubbock

It is almost the first of the month. Rent is due - and in Texas, evictions can resume after a two - month halt due to the economic effects of coronavirus. The Texas Supreme Court lifted the eviction suspension in mid-May. Some ten ants are protected by the federal CARES Act through August. Others ar e facing a financial problem . More than 15,000 people in Lubbock are estimated to be out of work right now , according to the Texas Workforce Commission , affecting their ability to pay bills....
