Puttin' on the Ritz, an exhibit at the Museum of Texas Tech, is every fashion lover's dream! Beautiful garments from the mid 19th century all the way to end of the 20th century dot the aisle at this breathtaking collection.
Exhibit curator Dr. Marian Ann Montgomery walked with me and discussed the history behind these beautiful pieces of clothing! This Emilio Pucci gown is stunning with its bright colors and easy glamour.
A few steps away I learned this lovely lime green Mollie Parnis was worn by Lady Bird Johnson as she hosted the first State Dinner honoring a female leader. That leader was Indira Ghandi.
Here we see a lovely 1920's flapper dress and with late 1800 garments in the background.
Puttin' on the Ritz also features clothing worn by local women such as Louise Hopkins Underwood, Amy Underwood and Margaret Talkington. The exhibit runs through mid-June and is not to be missed! You can find more information about the Museum of Texas Tech and all of its exhibitshere.
