Photography. Cosplay. Special effects makeup. These are all on the docket for this summer's smART Camps, put on by the Lubbock Arts Alliance in partnership with the Institute for Creative Learners.
On this week's The Front Row, Project Coordinator, Heather May, shares the organization's summer initiative: engaging kids with new, empowering mediums and art forms.
This summer they will host four weeks of art camps. Topics include filmmaking, acting, costume fabrication--or cosplay, special effects makeup, photography and comic book-style art. There will also be a special series consisting of five artists in five days, where kids will be acquainted with five world-renowned artists and learn their own creative techniques.
